A bright start with the threat of showers did not deter the keen group of PANTM members ready to experience the pleasures of our two destinations in and on the fringe of the New Forest. Straight to our first destination at Furzey Gardens near Minstead and just off the A31 where coffee was ready in the craft Gallery even though we arrived early. Notice our friendly coach captain relaxing after the rigours of the very narrow access road. |

How about this for a table! Just one of the items of wooden furniture on display. An essential tool used by the craftsman - a chain saw!! |

Picture this with a bar tender in the middle, put you off the booze! |

This restored Forest Cottage was a little more traditional and representative of the several thatched cottages on the estate. One of these Furzey House is reported to be the largest thatched cottage in the Forest. |

The delightful informal garden was established in 1922 and is renowned for it's all the year round beauty. Everywhere the seats and benches made the absorption of views such as this of the charming lake a delight. |

At this time of year the rhododendrons and azaleas were in full bloom. A feature of the estate is the intricate maze of secret paths and glades, a magic place. Our 2 hour stay at Furzey was just sufficient for us to realise that here was a place we could return to at any time of the year and enjoy again and again. |

PANTM's next excursion is to Kensington Palace on July 10th but we will not be able to attend ( on a family gathering in North Yorkshire). Hope you continue to enjoy these great excursions to the properties in our area. |
